General Edmonds Invisible Enemy
General Edmond awoke from a brief pause used to gather his thoughts. “Gather all your men up; every last one, and any civilians that are willing, or left for that matter. We are going to need all the help we can get.”
A belated “Yes sir” came from Corporal Simons, whose face at this time is currently molded into the shape of everything opposite of what the military stood for. Unmistakable, completely justified, and utter fear was the most easily identifiable emotion leaking from his humanistic sponge of a face.
General Edmond did not need to ask for clarification why his officer held the facial expressions of a lost soul, so helpless looking as it was. He knew, as he has known for the last several months that have been with out victory. Edmond knows what thoughts plague his mind, they have been running though his own mind as well. Any verbalization of these thoughts might sound something like this, a cry of despair: “How can we win this war or even fight a good fight when we can’t see the enemy? When we don’t even know who they are? With all hope lost, the enemy, with out any shots fired has already won.”
